Welcome!

Trenton Film Festival

The board of the Trenton Film Festival Society, society members and volunteers are honored to be able to bring you the Fifth Annual Trenton Film Festival.

In May 2004 the first Trenton Film Festival was held with the goal of bringing filmmakers and film viewers together to appreciate the art of filmmaking, a unique American art form. Staff members, volunteers, and audiences worked together in achieving this goal and making the festival a huge success. During these past five years the number of people helping or attending the festival is only increasing.

Interest in film festivals have grown in recent years as more moviegoers have gained admiration for the talent one must have in order to make a film. Also the increase popularity in film festivals is due to the pure enjoyment viewers receive when watching a film. The Trenton Film Festival gives audiences an opportunity to take pleasure in the best of independent cinema today.

Some 80 films will be screened as part of the 2008 festival, a wide variety from very short animated films to professional feature length. This year's opening film will be The 4th Dimension, labeled by Filmadelphia 'an ambitiously stylish sci-fi mystery' by Philadelphia filmmakers Tom Mattera and Dave Mazzoni. The closing film will be The Flyboys, a narrative feature from Rocco Devilliers which brings action, adventure and intrigue to the next level!

You can check out the schedule here. Films will be screened at three venues this years, Masonic Temple Auditorium, Contemporary Club Auditorium and Broad Street Bank, all within walking distance of each other and S. Warren Street, where you will find a number of places to shop or eat. Volunteers will be at each venue in order to help you find your way around.

On behalf of the Trenton Film Society, I would like to extend special thanks to the filmmakers who are involved this year, all of the devoted interns, volunteers and members, as well as those who continue to come and enjoy the films. Without all of you the Trenton Film Festival would not be the success it is today.

The 4th Dimension

Variety calls The 4th Dimension, “An Alice-like rabbit hole of suppressed memories…simmering with neurotic emotions and surreal dream states.” The Hollywood Reporter calls it, “Kafkaesque …stylistically channeling David Lynch and Darren Aronofsky.” IndieWire compliments its “Dazzling photography” and calls it “a swirling head-trip.” Read more here.
